Psychology is the study of the mind.

It seeks to understand and explain our internal thought processes, emotion and behavior. Psychological knowledge is applied to conduct appropriate mental health test and propose suitable treatment such as counseling. This is beneficial for society and the individual as they can learn to function effectively. International Psychology Centre is staffed by a professional, accredited team of counselors who are qualified in treating clients with various mental health issues. This includes Adult Psychology, Child Psychology, Educational Psychology, marriage counseling, addiction therapy and many more.

What is the difference between psychiatrists and psychologists?

Psychiatrists diagnose, treat and prevent mental disorders via medicinal approaches. At the International Psychology  Centre, we are able to treat most mental disorders that psychiatrists deal with. In Child Psychiatry, there are numerous concerns about ADHD, Asperger’s and Autism. Our established team of counselors and psychologists are able to treat children with mental health disorders without the use of drugs. Where necessary, the use of natural psycho-nutritional supplements would be recommended.

Our preferred method of treatment is Psychotherapy which is a form of counselling. This is a collaborative process where you and your psychologist will work together to change unproductive and negative behavior patterns. It is a supportive, confidential dialogue-based session that provides the opportunity for you to discuss the issue with a professional counselor who is neutral, objective and non judgmental. You would even learn new skills to cope with the stresses you experience regularly.

Psychotherapy alone can be very effective and medication is not always needed alongside treatment unlike what psychiatrists suggest. Through Psychotherapy, we can help individuals of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives.
